Momence makes it unusually hard to compare prices, because only one of them will tell you a price. Momence’s pricing page says “Unlock your custom pricing package,” and the only way past that is a free trial or a demo request.
WellnessLiving publishes three tiers outright, $69 to $349, which sounds like the easier answer until you look at what those tiers leave out.
The short version: choose Momence if a modern client experience, on-demand content, and marketing automation matter more to you than knowing your monthly cost before a sales call. Choose WellnessLiving if you want a published number and coverage beyond boutique fitness, and budget from the $199 Business tier rather than the $69 headline. Either way, ask both vendors for one fee-inclusive monthly figure at your real transaction volume. The rest of this article explains why that number takes some work to get.
What are the key differences between WellnessLiving and Momence?
- Momence does not publish a subscription price to a shopping visitor. Its pricing page routes to a free trial or a demo request.
- WellnessLiving publishes four tiers on its own site: Starter $69, Business $199, BusinessPro $349, Enterprise custom. Its own blog post about Momence states a different, higher range for those same plans.
- Momence charges 3.9% + $0.30 per online card transaction in the US, published on its pricing page, on top of whatever the subscription costs.
- Neither platform includes a website you own. Momence connects to a domain you already have and embeds widgets or auto-generated booking pages. WellnessLiving’s Presence website is a paid add-on on all four tiers.
- Momence is majority-owned through Clubessential Holdings, now part of Xplor Technologies following a March 2026 merger. It operates independently.
How much does Momence cost?
Momence doesn’t say, at least not to a visitor. Its pricing page opens with “Unlock your custom pricing package,” and getting past it means starting a free trial or requesting a demo. Neither produces a number up front.
What Momence does publish clearly are its card-processing rates: 3.9% + $0.30 per online transaction in the US, 3.7% + $0.05 in person, and 1.8% for ACH, with separate rates listed for the UK, Australia, and Canada.
If you’ve seen tier prices quoted for Momence somewhere online, treat them as unconfirmed until a rep puts a number in writing for you. And when you do get on that call, ask for the monthly total at your transaction volume with processing included, not just the subscription.
How much does WellnessLiving cost compared to Momence?
WellnessLiving publishes four tiers directly on its own site: Starter at $69 a month, Business at $199, BusinessPro at $349, and a custom Enterprise plan. Business is the first tier with unlimited staff, rewards, and marketing tools, so a working studio setup budgets closer to $199 than $69.
One caution here: WellnessLiving’s own blog quotes a higher range for these same plans than its pricing page does. When the two disagree, budget from the pricing page.
WellnessLiving also states no specific payment-processing rate anywhere on its pricing or features pages, only language like “cut processing fees.” The rate varies by merchant processor and country, so that’s a second number you’ll need to request directly.
Platform fee vs. processing fee: what’s the difference?
Comparisons in this category blend these two charges constantly, so it’s worth separating them before you sit through any demo. A processing fee is what the card network and bank charge to move money. That’s the 3.9% + $0.30 you would pay through Stripe or Square no matter what software sits above it. A platform fee is what the software company adds on top for using its product. OfferingTree’s is zero on Pro and above, published alongside the processing rates.
Momence’s processing rates are published and confirmed. Whether it also charges a platform fee is not stated anywhere a shopping visitor can see, so you’ll have to ask on the call.
Does Momence include a website?
Not one you own. Momence’s help center covers connecting a domain you already have and embedding booking widgets into a site built elsewhere, or using an auto-generated business page that carries your schedule and a buy button. That’s more than nothing, but it isn’t a site you design or control.
WellnessLiving sits in the same position, selling its Presence website as a paid add-on on every tier. Neither subscription includes a website, which is the gap our own website builder exists to close. Rachel Scott, a yoga teacher trainer, ran into this directly:
“Before I switched to OfferingTree, I was using Momence, then it was Ribbon,” she said. What she wanted was “an attractive site that was more than a plug-in to my current webpage,” with enough design flexibility to carry her own brand.
Where is WellnessLiving better than Momence?
WellnessLiving’s feature set runs broader and older. It spans spas, salons, and multi-service wellness businesses rather than boutique fitness alone. Its rewards and loyalty program is fully built out from the Business tier, and in most third-party accounts its reporting depth goes further than Momence’s at a comparable price point.
Where is Momence better than WellnessLiving?
Momence has a well-earned reputation for a more modern client interface, and most independent reviews agree it isn’t close. Its marketing automation, on-demand content, and hybrid or livestream delivery are more developed than WellnessLiving’s equivalents, which sit behind the FitVID and FitLIVE paid add-ons rather than coming built in. If virtual and hybrid delivery is central to your studio, Momence was built around that from the start.
How do WellnessLiving and Momence compare side by side?
Notice how much of the Momence column reads “not published” rather than a number.
| Momence | WellnessLiving | |
|---|---|---|
| Published subscription price | Not published; demo or trial required | $69 / $199 / $349 (Starter/Business/BusinessPro) |
| Payment processing (US) | 3.9% + $0.30 online, published | Not stated; varies by processor |
| Website included | No, connect your own domain or widgets | No, Presence add-on, all tiers |
| Marketing automation | Built-in, mature by most accounts | Business tier and up |
| On-demand / hybrid video | Core feature | Paid add-on (FitVID, FitLIVE) |
| Rewards and loyalty | Not a core feature | Business tier and up |
| Former name | Ribbon | N/A |
Two studios that moved on from Momence
Amelia opened Motion Yoga and Dance in Carson City, Nevada, this year. She runs yoga, group fitness, and dance classes with six instructors, and she demoed several platforms before choosing OfferingTree, Momence among them.
“I did Momence, but they were also just extremely expensive and just had a lot of stuff, it just felt way more technical than we need… Momence I think was more expensive, like 200 something.”
Rachel Scott trains yoga teachers and runs mentorships and online classes. She used Momence back when it was still called Ribbon.
“I wanted to have an attractive site that was more than a plug-in to my current webpage, I wanted more flexibility with the design and site layout so that I could really feel that it was my own and represented my professional brand.”
Rachel Scott trains yoga teachers and runs mentorships and online classes. She used Momence back when it was still called Ribbon.
Neither story means Momence is the wrong choice for your studio. Amelia’s point about paying for more than you need, and Rachel’s about the website, are just the two questions worth settling before you sign with anyone.
Who should choose WellnessLiving vs. Momence?
If client experience, on-demand content, and marketing automation matter more to you than knowing the cost up front, Momence is worth the sales call it takes to price it. Get the full monthly total in writing, with processing and any platform fee included.
If you need a published number and coverage beyond boutique fitness, WellnessLiving fits. Budget from the Business tier rather than the $69 headline, and verify against the pricing page rather than any comparison blog, including WellnessLiving’s own. Our yoga studio software buyer’s guide walks through comparing tiers that bundle differently, if you want help with that step.
And if the thing bothering you is that neither vendor will name a total monthly cost at your size, bring that to the demo and ask directly. It’s a reasonable question, and how a vendor answers it tells you something about what they’ll be like to work with.
Is OfferingTree a good fit if you’re choosing between WellnessLiving and Momence?
Momence has a materially larger footprint. WellnessLiving’s rewards program has no real OfferingTree equivalent today.
Where we fit is the problem this page opened with. Every one of our tiers has a published price. A website is included rather than sold separately, and unlimited on-demand video comes standard rather than gated behind an add-on.
Switching software carries its own dread, so it’s worth saying plainly: we’re month to month, you can cancel anytime, and a real person here moves your data for you. Studio plans also include the OT Cooperative, our community of studio owners, with free coaching calls and ongoing education. We’re a small team ourselves, and caring about the businesses we serve is the whole reason the company exists.
