Mindbody and Glofox are fighting over the same customer, and their own websites say so: Glofox’s FAQ attacks Mindbody’s shared consumer app by name, and Mindbody publishes its own comparison page pointed back at Glofox. We are going to compare the two objectively to help you see what it right for your studio.

The short version: these are both premium platforms with mostly unpublished pricing, aimed at businesses with real scale. Mindbody’s bet is its marketplace, an app where millions of consumers can discover you. Glofox’s bet is the opposite, a custom-branded app where your members see only you. Which bet fits your business is the real question, along with one detail from Glofox’s own plans page that most comparisons miss entirely.

What is ABC Glofox?

Glofox is boutique fitness and gym management software, founded in Dublin and now operating as ABC Glofox inside ABC Fitness Solutions, one of the largest fitness technology companies in the world. The platform covers booking and scheduling, member management, payments, payroll, reporting, lead capture, retail, and member engagement tools, with a staff app and a member app on every plan.

Look at who Glofox showcases and the identity comes into focus: F45, Club Pilates, Snap Fitness, 9Round, Jazzercise, boxing clubs, BJJ academies. This is software built for boutique fitness brands and franchise operations, businesses with locations, staff layers, and membership models, and its yoga and Pilates offerings live inside that gym-scale architecture. Their own customer stories celebrate outcomes like scaling across locations and driving membership growth, which tells you the size of business the machine is tuned for.

The product’s calling card is the custom-branded member app: your studio’s own app in the App Store and Google Play, with your brand and nobody else’s. Glofox positions this directly against Mindbody’s shared app, and it’s a genuine philosophical difference worth taking seriously. It also comes with a catch that lives on their own pricing page, which we’ll get to.

Glofox pricing in 2026: one published number, four quoted tiers

Glofox’s plans page displays exactly one price: “Plans starting at $99 per month.” Below it sit four tiers, Essential, Boost, Elite, and Enterprise, and every one of them shows a Request Pricing button that leads to a form asking your business type, location count, and contact details before any number appears.

Glofox’s FAQ makes two pricing claims worth noting with their sourcing attached: that Glofox “costs 50% less than competitors,” and that your price is “locked for life” even as features are added. The lock-for-life promise is a real differentiator if it holds, and worth getting in writing on your quote. The 50% claim is harder to evaluate, for a structural reason: with no tier prices published on either side of this comparison, the only way to test it is to collect both quotes yourself. Which is the practical takeaway of this whole section. Between a $99 floor with three quoted tiers and a $79 floor with two, the honest answer to “which costs more” is that nobody outside a sales call knows, including the comparison articles confidently ranking them.

The branded app: Glofox’s signature feature, and where it sits in the tiers

Here’s the detail from Glofox’s own plans page that changes how you should read their pitch. The Custom Branded Member App, the feature their FAQ leads with, the one that “displays your business only,” is listed as an optional add-on on the Essential and Boost tiers. It comes included only at Elite, the tier just below Enterprise.

On the lower tiers, your members use the ABC Glofox mobile app, a shared-brand app, which is a milder version of the exact arrangement Glofox criticizes Mindbody for. To be precise about the difference: the Glofox app doesn’t shelve you in a consumer marketplace next to competitors the way Mindbody’s does, so the criticism isn’t hollow. But a studio buying Glofox because of the branded-app pitch should walk into the sales call knowing the pitch describes the Elite tier or an add-on, not the front door, and should ask for the add-on’s price in writing at whatever tier they’re quoted.

Mindbody’s version of the same story, for symmetry: its branded app is a paid add-on on Accelerate and Ultimate, on top of tier prices that are also unpublished. In both cases, the feature most likely to appear in the demo is one of the least likely to be included in the number you’re first quoted.

Mindbody vs Glofox: marketplace reach or your own brand

Strip away the tier charts and this comparison is one strategic question: do you want to be found, or do you want to be unmistakable?

Mindbody’s answer is reach. Its consumer app puts your studio in front of more than 3 million active users, which no competitor matches, backed by 100+ integrations, multi-service tooling for businesses spanning fitness, wellness, and beauty, and enterprise reporting. The cost of reach is context: you appear alongside every competitor in your area, and per Mindbody’s own FAQ, fees can apply when a new client discovers you through the app. You’re renting an audience that can browse away as easily as it arrived.

Glofox’s answer is brand. No marketplace, no shared shelf at the top tiers, just your app, your community, your push notifications. For a boutique brand whose members identify with the studio, that coherence is worth real money, and Glofox’s franchise clients are proof the model scales. The cost of brand is acquisition: nobody discovers you inside your own app, so your marketing has to do the work Mindbody’s marketplace does for its customers.

Both answers are legitimate at the scale they’re built for. And that scale is the last thing to check before you book either demo, because the businesses in Glofox’s logo wall and Mindbody’s enterprise tiers have staff, locations, and budgets that a three-instructor wellness studio doesn’t, and the pricing conversations are calibrated accordingly.

Glofox vs Mindbody vs OfferingTree: the wellness studio question

If you run a yoga, Pilates, or wellness studio rather than a boutique fitness franchise, notice what both platforms above have in common. Neither publishes its tier pricing. Neither includes a website in its listed plan features. Both treat the branded app as an add-on or upper-tier feature. And both are engineered for operations bigger than most independent wellness businesses ever intend to become.

Megan Bliss ran The Limitless Studio in Burien, WA on Mindbody, and her description of premium-platform life is the pattern to watch for on any enterprise sales call:

I’d run into barriers during the process of attempting to add functionality… I couldn’t access what seemed like intuitive offerings that fitness studio owners would want. Or if they were available, it required an upgrade to a higher monthly fee.”

OfferingTree was built by wellness professionals as the other answer to that pattern: every tier published on the pricing page, Individual plans from $26 a month and Studio plans from $100 to $225 billed annually, with the website builder, unlimited on-demand video, email marketing, and automated text reminders included rather than tiered away. The branded app follows the same philosophy in miniature: it exists, it costs $100 a month plus a $250 setup fee, and both numbers are published where anyone can read them before ever talking to a person. There’s no platform transaction fee on Pro, Pro Plus, or Studio plans, migration is free and hands-on with every Studio tier, and everything runs month to month.

The fair boundaries, stated plainly: OfferingTree has no consumer marketplace, so Mindbody’s discovery engine has no equivalent here, and a multi-location franchise with corporate reporting needs belongs in the Glofox or Mindbody conversation, not this one. The wellness studio in between those cases is exactly who the published-pricing model was built for.

Which should you choose: Mindbody, Glofox, or OfferingTree?

Choose Glofox if you run a boutique fitness brand or franchise where the member experience is the product, a custom-branded app is central to that experience, and you’re prepared to negotiate quote-based pricing with the app’s tier placement and the lock-for-life terms in writing.

Choose Mindbody if you operate a multi-service or multi-location business whose growth plan depends on marketplace discovery, and you can absorb enterprise pricing plus the fees that can apply on marketplace-acquired clients, also confirmed in writing.

Choose OfferingTree if you’re a wellness studio or independent teacher who wants the website, unlimited video, marketing, and a published branded-app price in one transparent bill, starting at $26 a month. Start a free trial on your real schedule, or watch a demo first.

Frequently asked questions about Mindbody vs Glofox

Is Glofox cheaper than Mindbody?

Publicly, it’s unknowable. Glofox publishes a $99/month starting price with all four tiers quote-gated; Mindbody publishes a $79/month-per-location starting price with its two upper tiers quote-gated. Glofox’s own FAQ claims it costs 50% less than competitors, but with neither company’s tier prices published, the only way to test that is to collect both quotes for your specific studio, with add-ons and the branded app included in each.

Does Glofox include a branded app?

Not on its lower tiers. Per Glofox’s own plans page, the Custom Branded Member App is an optional add-on on the Essential and Boost tiers and comes included at Elite. On lower tiers, members use the shared-brand ABC Glofox app. If the branded app is your reason for choosing Glofox, ask which tier your quote reflects and what the add-on costs at that tier, in writing.

What is ABC Glofox? Is Glofox part of ABC Fitness?

Yes. Glofox was founded in Dublin and now operates as ABC Glofox, a brand within ABC Fitness Solutions, one of the largest fitness technology companies in the world. The platform’s client roster reflects that scale, including franchise fitness brands like F45, Club Pilates, Snap Fitness, and 9Round.

Does Glofox have a marketplace like Mindbody?

No, and Glofox treats that as its core differentiator: its FAQ argues that shared apps like Mindbody’s marketplace lead to studios losing customers, and its model centers on a custom app showing your business only. The trade-off is that marketplace discovery, Mindbody’s biggest strategic asset with 3M+ active users, has no Glofox equivalent, so client acquisition is entirely on your own marketing.

How long does switching to Glofox take?

Fast, by their account: Glofox’s FAQ says you can be up and running in one afternoon, with your custom app taking two to three additional days for App Store and Google Play approval, and that migration covers client profiles, contact details, and existing payment methods. As with any vendor claim, confirm the migration scope and timeline for your specific data during the sales process.

Is Glofox good for yoga and Pilates studios?

It serves them, and it markets to them, but its architecture is boutique fitness and franchise scale: membership models, locations, staff layers, and quote-based pricing from a $99/month floor. A yoga or Pilates studio operating at that scale can be a genuine fit. Independent wellness studios and solo teachers usually find better economics in wellness-first platforms with published pricing, like OfferingTree, where the website, video, and marketing come standard from $26 a month.

What should I ask on a Glofox or Mindbody sales call?

Six things, all in writing: the full monthly price for your tier and location count; whether the branded app is included at that tier and its cost if not; every transaction, processing, and marketplace-related fee; what happens to your price at renewal (and for Glofox, the exact terms of the “locked for life” pricing claim); contract length and cancellation terms; and what a complete data export costs if you leave. A platform confident in its pricing answers all six without hesitation.
