GymDesk and Momence run different kinds of business. GymDesk is membership software: an active roster, attendance, failed-payment chasing, and rank tracking with promotion criteria you set, built up from its martial arts roots. Momence is class-schedule software: packs, workshops, event ticketing, marketing automations, and on-demand video for studios that sell spots in rooms rather than monthly memberships.

What does each platform actually publish about cost?

GymDesk publishes a full subscription price list. Momence only publishes payment processing rates, the rest you need a demo for.

How much does Momence cost per month?

Momence doesn’t publish subscription pricing.

What you can do is walk into the demo armed with the right questions. These are the things you should ask:

• The monthly subscription for the plan you’d actually be on, and whether that rate assumes annual billing
• Whether a platform fee applies on top of card processing, and on which plans it disappears
• Which features are add-ons, and what each one costs per month
• Contract length, and what happens to your data and your members’ saved cards if you leave

A platform transaction fee is a cut the software company takes from each sale on top of what your card processor charges, which is why two studios paying the same subscription can hand over very different amounts at the end of the month.

What are Momence’s payment processing fees?

Momence’s pricing page lists US processing at 3.9% + $0.30 for online card payments, 3.7% + $0.05 for in-person card payments, and 1.8% for ACH.

Let’s see what that looks like in practice. Say you take $8,000 in online card payments across 320 charges, which is about $25 a head for classes and drop-ins. The percentage piece is 3.9% of $8,000, or $312. The per-charge piece is 320 times $0.30, or $96. Your processing comes to $408.

Of course everyone is paying some kind of processing fee, so comparing is key here. 

How much is GymDesk per month at your member count?

GymDesk prices by how many active members you have, and every band is published. Currently, Micro Gym costs $75 per month for up to 50 active members, Small Gym costs $100 for 51 to 100, Medium Gym costs $150 for 101 to 200, and Large Gym costs $200 for 201 to 400, with a custom quote above that.

Every plan includes all features, unlimited staff accounts, and a responsive website. Visitors, frozen or cancelled members, and prospects don’t count toward your total, which matters if you carry a long list of people who signed up once in January. The trial runs 30 days with no credit card, and plans are month to month.

One honest gap on GymDesk’s side. GymDesk Payments, its own built-in processor and the one it recommends for US gyms, has its own pricing structure that isn’t published either. If you go that route, you’re booking a call for that piece.

Why demo-gated prices cost studios more

When pricing is locked behind demos, you can’t model what switching would cost, you can’t hold your renewal quote up against a real alternative, and you can’t put a line in next year’s budget that isn’t a guess.

For a studio with 2 to 8 instructors, that’s not a small thing.

To be fair quotes sometimes land lower than the published prices you were comparing against, you just can’t know that until you’ve spent the 45 minutes.

Is GymDesk only for gyms and martial arts?

No. GymDesk publishes dedicated yoga and Pilates pages and sells into dance, gymnastics, and CrossFit alongside martial arts schools.

With that said, rank and program tracking is one of its strongest features, with promotion criteria built from sessions attended, days at current rank, training hours, minimum age, and skill requirements. 

Attendance, memberships, and billing are the core, and they’re solid. Class packs, workshop series, and an on-demand library are a different shape of business.

Does Momence or GymDesk fit better for a yoga or Pilates studio?

This is where the how-you-sell sort from the top of the piece pays off.

If your revenue is recurring memberships and your daily question is who showed up and whose payment failed, GymDesk is built exactly for that, and you can price it before you talk to anyone.
